Selling our Archive
Sale of authentic and unique digital film clips about Scotland’s past featuring the ordinary people their life and work from the late 1800s to the present day
Why this archive is for sale
Selling our archive will ensure that all our clips are saved for posterity. The ideal place for them to be located is within a world archive for Scottish heritage or world ethnology. As all the clips are digitised and linked to a searchable data base they are in the ideal format for utility by such a new owner to optimise. Carney Heritage Productions Ltd is a one man business I cannot give the archive the exposure that a leading collection can facilitate.
Because this is the reality that I face I therefore put my unique authentic validated archive on the market to any organisation who can save it for posterity. They must also be capable of providing access to world audiences. We supply you with a listing of all our clips and thumbnails showing the topics and scope of our award winning world distributed footage.
Content
Our archive consists of 2,537 clips to date. We continually add to this number. This widely used archive was started in 1989 by myself Dr Don Carney from Aberdeenshire in Scotland. My motivation for creating this new archive was pride in and for my Scottish ancestors and all they the ordinary people have given us all. The archive to date contains 530 hours of unique footage about how the ordinary people lived and worked. Although the footage was filmed in Aberdeenshire it is representative of life and work of the ordinary persons story world wide. We all share a common sense of identity. The archive to date has proved this because we have retailed our footage to 13 countries. The time scale that our footage captures is from the late 1800s to today.
Utility to date
Our authentic clips and knowledge of oor heritage has featured in many TV appearances locally, nationally and internationally. I have also presented many academic papers about our archive to national and international audiences. For my innovatory work in this field of scholarly research I have been awarded with the first PhD of its kind in the world featuring the capture of Scottish heritage on film and utilising the Scots language and the Doric dialect.
